About Us.

Assurety is the UK’s leading witness preparation company, trusted by law firms and clients in high-stakes litigation and arbitration.

We prepare witnesses to perform effectively under pressure through realistic, ethical and psychologically informed preparation that strengthens confidence, credibility and composure when it matters most.

Preparing witnesses for the realities of cross-examination

Founded by leading KCs, Assurety was created to address a critical gap in legal preparation: helping witnesses understand and withstand the pressures of giving evidence.

Even highly experienced professionals can struggle under sustained questioning. Pressure affects communication, clarity, and confidence in ways many witnesses do not anticipate.

Our role is to prepare witnesses for that experience, giving them the understanding, practical skills, and resilience needed to perform at their best in court.

A different approach to witness preparation

Assurety combines the expertise of leading barristers, communications experts, and performance psychologists to create preparation that is realistic, challenging and highly effective.

Our cross-examination practice is designed to be as close as possible to the real experience, using personally meaningful scenarios rather than artificial role-play. Sessions are tailored to each witness and focused on improving performance under pressure.

This integrated approach helps witnesses build confidence, sharpen communication, and develop the composure needed to withstand difficult questioning.

By choosing Assurety you can be confident that you have done everything you can to fully and properly prepare your witnesses.

Our Trainers

Barristers

Our barrister trainers bring deep experience of cross-examination in the most important hearings. All are senior practitioners - senior juniors and KCs from leading sets such as Essex Court, Serle Court, Blackstone, 11KBW, Littleton, and Cloisters. Their role in training is to question in the same style as they would  use in court, replicating for the witness the demands of being questioned under sustained, forensic pressure.

Communications Experts

Our communications experts help witnesses understand how words, tone, and body language  can be viewed when under pressure. Drawing on years of work in high-stakes professional and broadcast settings, they focus on helping the witness gain clarity, consistency, and credibility, giving witnesses the practical skills they need to stay composed and engage the court in an effective and authentic way.

Performance Psychologists

Our psychologists specialise in how people think and respond when the pressure is at its highest. With both academic expertise and experience supporting business leaders, elite performers, and athletes, they help witnesses recognise stress triggers, build resilience, and strengthen the mindset needed to remain calm, focused and confident when giving evidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Assurety different from other witness preparation providers?

Assurety’s approach combines three elements that set our training apart.

Real play, not role play
Our cross-examination practice is as close as possible to the real thing, based on actual events not artificial role-plays, and bespoke to each witness

Unmatched barrister expertise
Every session is led by a leading KC or senior barrister with extensive cross-examination experience.

Multi-disciplinary insight
Barristers work alongside communications specialists and performance psychologists who are specialists in behavioural change.

How realistic are the cross-examination sessions?

Our training is designed to replicate the pressure of cross-examination as closely as possible without touching on the facts of the case. By using personal material, provided by the witnesses themselves, our cross-examination practice replicates the emotion and pressure of the real thing. Our leading barristers construct bespoke forensic questioning sessions  and we use with video playback and detailed feedback to analyse performance, identify risks and build new habits.

Which witnesses benefit most from preparation?

Witness preparation can benefit:

  • First-time witnesses unfamiliar with court
  •
  • Senior professionals or executives unused to forensic, challenging questioning
  •
  • Key witnesses in high-stakes litigation
  •
  • Individuals likely to face prolonged or adversarial questioning
  •

How do I decide which level of training is appropriate?

The appropriate level depends on:

  • The importance of the witness to the case
  • The litigation stakes
  • The witness’s experience and confidence

Solicitors often select a mix of training levels across a case to balance depth of preparation with efficiency.

How long does a session typically last?

Sessions vary depending on the programme, from 3 hours to bespoke multi-session programmes.
